Postal masters give us your best ideas, here.
And more pinned messages, perhaps?

What small "Postal ideas", from experiences and knowledge, could the "Postal masters", around here, give to their "community" to help the new players, whom I am inviting to this Postal NetWork's Forum?

And, right off, I will bet you that a lot of new players will appreciate that "Pinned: For anyone seeking help on the missions!" message... (Asking "nub", "newbie" or the "same old dumb" questions used to be a good way to "visit" a board... But that is not a good habit, around some of these Postal boards.) :(

So, could we pin a complete "Postal 2 Secrets" message that gives the new player something special or different to enjoy, especially after their first full-game of Postal 2?

And then, much later, a pinned "Postal 2 AW Secrets" message would be kind of a neat idea, to me.

And, of course, to expand your Postal game "horizons" with new Postal2 map-builders, perhaps a "PostEd: Editor Basics" message might be a necessity for a lot of those who have never created or even edited a single map, in their lives???

So, here are some questions for our "Postal Masters"...
(PS, I already wasted enough time, on the RWS Board, about these.) :(

In PostEd, the "Content Sensitive Help" button (an arrow and a question mark) seems more like a "dead button" to me... So, can anything be done to give some "life" to this button?

In PostEd, that light gray mouse-pointer is a pain to see with a matching background... Is there a way to change this color to something unique, like a very bright and rarely used color??? Perhaps a very bright green would do?

In PostEd, mouse clicking and dragging to simply move around, gets very old, very quickly... Is there a way to assign keys and let the builder move around, just like the Postal Guy in his "ghost" mode? (And then, adding some pure "up and down" keys would probably complete the required movements for a builder's needs?)

Sounds cool, but I think most of the Postal2 secrets are discovered and the explanations are spread throughout the whole forum...
I think we could do a special thread, if somebody collects all the found stuff, or I will do it this weekend, when I got free time on my hands.

And a AW Secrets thread, I think as soon as the game is out everywhere there will be posts like that, so when the need is there we could pin it, if you want.

The Editor stuff:
Postal Editors @ postalnetwork.org
Hasnt been updated lately, I guess because it was moved and is now a bit hidden.

German Tutorial Link Page
The thread is in german, but check out the links.

Postal 2 Editor & Mod Help

The "Content Sensitive Help" button thing...
I guess it's just a dead fragment of the Uedit, since PostEd is the Uedit of an early Unreal Warfare Version, maybe it just wasnt done back then...

Unfortunately I dont know any solutions for your other PostEd problems,
I just tried in the editor...
I havent found a way to move eg with WASD.
It works in other editors such as Hammer for Half-Life, but I guess it doesnt work in PostEd...

Do you happen to know it it works in UEdit for UT2003 or UT2004?

... Yeah, I hear you, SkillMaster...
The loss of that "Content Sensitive Help" is a real shame. :(

Just, having it for a starting-point for further discussions and perhaps some expansion, here and there, might have provided a great "built-in tutorial" for a lot of beginners, like me.

And Thanks for locating your "Postal Editors@postalnetwork.org" section for me, again.... Thought that it had simply gone POOF, ya know.

So, I took a serious look at that "Tutorial on Making Basic BSP Architecture" and started doing a small re-write of it, so that I can begin asking some better PostEd questions, hopefully? ;)

Then a RWS BBS member had a question about using water in Postal...
And I suspect that they liked my example that I stumbled upon while searching and researching a bunch of material.

AW Questions

And Sorry, I don't know a thing about UEdit for UT2003 or UT2004. :(

Fox, your work is an excellent addition to my Book of Postal2 Mysteries, now.
(I would have normally said EXCELLENT, but I'm trying to control myself, here. B)

Btw, did you try to use more of P2's "map tracking" to show the actual path?
(It looks like you did this for your gohere11113fj.jpg, the bloody cow shrine".)

For new players... Simply bring up the map at the beginning of a path to a secret area and then close the map, until you are at the secret area or at the end of what you want to mark. And then, when you open the map, it should give you a nicely done "dotted path" to where the player needs to go to.

I'm playing with Kamek's Modification of the Game, and it has the nice command "superjump" in it. I just jump over the barriers, or use the "ghost" cheat to fly through. The barriers are there, yeah, but the buildings are there as well.
